3-year BA in Hospitality Management

B.H.M.S. Business & Hotel Management School, together with Robert Gordon University (RGU), designed a fast track BA Degree in Switzerland without compromising the quality of the studies.

The BA Hotel and Hospitality Management program provides students academic qualifications and a set of skills that are attractive to potential employers, the necessary abilities to enter the professional world and a "tool box" that can be applied to a range of careers in the hospitality industry and service sector.

The course uses a range of teaching methods to facilitate learning such as pair and group projects, individual research and reports, as well as study trips to industry facilities.

Core knowledge is covered by lectures and tutorials, supported by guided reading and additional materials on the University virtual campus.

Duration: 36 months

Admission Requirements:

  • Completed secondary school diploma
  • Completed B.H.M.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • IELTS 5.0 level or equivalent

For those who do not meet the English Requirements, we offer a 10-week University English Foundation program which is an intensive course designed for hospitality and culinary arts students - in undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
 

Diploma: Hospitality Management
(Year One)


Forming the first year towards the BA in Hotel and Hospitality Management, the Diploma in Hospitality Management consists of one intensive study period of 6 months at the B.H.M.S. campus in Lucerne, Switzerland, and one paid industry training period of 4-6 months in the Swiss hospitality industry.

The program has a dual focus on developing a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international hotel industry, and builds knowledge of key business and management principles. It comprises of one semester of 20 weeks and a 4-6 month paid internship in Switzerland or overseas.

Higher Diploma Hospitality Management
(Year Two)


The second year towards the BA in Hotel and Hospitality Management consists of one intensive study period of 6 months at the B.H.M.S. campus in Lucerne, Switzerland and one paid industry training period of 4- 6 months in the Swiss or international hospitality industry.

This second year provides the knowledge needed to further a career in global tourism, hospitality and other multi-national business sectors. Students advance their understanding and skills in business management with subjects that include accounting, sales and marketing as well as human resources management. After completing the two-year program at the B.H.M.S. Business & Hotel Management School, students decide either to follow the BA in Hotel & Hospitality Management or the BA in Global Business Management final year pathway.

BA Degree: Hotel & Hospitality Management
(Year Three)


The third year of the total 3-year Bachelor of Arts program, the BA Hotel and Hospitality Management, is based on an intensive study period over 20 weeks at the B.H.M.S. campus in Lucerne, Switzerland, and a 3-6 month of workplace experience in a Swiss or international hospitality enterprise. B.H.M.S. manages the program with RGU, who awards the bachelor's degree to those students who successfully complete the third year and pass all modules. Graduates may become accomplished managers, capable of working across a range of public and private enterprises including leisure facilities, hotels, theme parks, conferences, exhibitions and event management.

This is an intensive course designed for students whose English level is not yet sufficient to meet the entry requirements of a specific academic program.
